HOW IT WORKS
Christine and her dog Jessie will walk the 2,180 miles of the Appalachian Trail over 6 grueling months to inspire YOU to make a difference. Tell us why they should walk for your loved one and what made him or her special.

Want to help support Christine & Jessie as they take on the Appalachian Trail? Here are a bunch of ways you can “own” part of their hike!
Just Bag it $275.00 – Christine needs a sleeping bag. Big Agnes is an outdoor outfitter that has already offered her a 40% discount, but the bag is expensive, and let’s face it, this is not an optional item. (Generously donated by Mootsy Elliot 0 needed)
Dogpacker $180.00 - Jessie will be using a Long Howl specialized backpack for her journey. This package includes her pack and related gear like boots and harness rub tee. (Generously donated by Cavo Mancini 0 needed )
Keep Walkin’ $150.00 – It’s estimated that Christine will shred three pair of boots in taking nearly 5 million steps over 2,180 miles. Help her by purchasing a pair of boots! (3 needed)
Sleep Well $125.00 - Every week to 10 days, Christine and Jessie will be staying in a hotel, bed and breakfast, motel or hostel. You can help by purchasing a town stay that will include all hotel accommodations and food for an average two nights (including shuttle pickup, taxes, etc.) (25 needed)
Feed Bag $100 (includes shipping) - The average hiker expends roughly 6,000 calories per day and walks more in 20 minutes than the average American walks in a week. Bottom line is: Christine needs fuel and lot of it. This much-needed package will include everything she’ll eat on the trail for one week like instant grits/oatmeal, beef jerky, trail mix, crackers, peanut butter/spreads and a dehydrated dinners (YUM!) (26 needed)
Stay Connected $75.00 – Help Christine stay connected on the trail. This package includes covering costs for cell service, satellite communicator service and the technology she’ll need to keep her phone and camera charged so she can share her experiences with the world. (Generously donated by: Eileen & Paul Coppola, Karen Le Riche, Cecilia Halverson. 2 more needed )
Bounce It $60.00 - Christine will have a box containing her laptop, town clothes, toiletry items and other misc. items she will not have in her backpack. Each time she arrives in a town, she will have her box. When she departs, she’ll send that box ahead to her next destination. (Generously donated by Cecilia Halverson. 19 more needed )
Map It $50.00 - Christine will be hiking through 14 states covering 2,180 miles. She’ll need good maps to help navigate. The total trail map set, including data books costs about $300.00 total. You can purchase a section at $50 or the entire set for $300.00. (Generously donated by Iris Orsini. 5 more needed )
Civilized Person $30.00 – Help Christine look like a civilized person and not turn into a mountain woman. This package includes personal hygiene items that she’ll use when she is in a town (shampoo, conditioner, soap, razor, toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion etc.) (5 needed)
Civilized Dog $15.00 – Help Jessie stay beautiful and clean so she doesn’t end up looking like a stray wolf. This package includes treats, dog shampoo, foot care and supplements. (5 needed)
Put a Sock in It $10.00 – Christine will go through approximately 10-15 pairs of Smartwool hiking socks. And by go through we mean destroy.
( Generously donated by Chris Rosaschi 14 more needed )
