As part of my morning routine stop for coffee, I will greet everyone with a friendly smile and "good morning" and at random times buy a cup of coffee for the person behind or in front of me so that they can start their day on a positive note.

I dedicate a mile for my grandpa because heês gone through so much health-wise in the past two years and has come out so much stronger.

Please walk a mile in memory of my mom, Gloria Maron, died in 2011. She would have turned 81 on May 14. Mom made certain I knew I could accomplish pretty much anything with hard work, not slacking, and instilled independence and self confidence in all of her 4 kids. I will keep working to do the same with my own children, practicing the tough love mom recommended when necessary. I will pay it forward by continuing my work as a Board member of Furniture Sharehouse where on Friday, May 11 I will give a tour to introduce the work we do to community members. This dedication is for my older sister Mimi, because until her life was cut short in April 2011, she paid it forward everyday. I wish I could describe my sister to you, but you honestly have to have known her to believe it. She danced like no one was watching. She loved almost everyone she met and went out of her way to make people feel smart, beautiful, important. People who had known her for only weeks were at her funeral because she had made such an impact on their lives with just a smile and a few words. throughout her life, I witnessed her selflessly give people money, clothes, food. I would tease her when she bought cuter clothes than me, and she would say "Oh take it" with no question. She was the most amazing mother I've ever known. Because she was 16 years older than me, she was truly my second mother, then a second mother to my three kids. I miss my sister so much everyday, but I have to be grateful for what she gave me, the wisdom she provided me, the beautiful person she was, and that I am a better woman because of her. Rest in Peace Mima, my sweet Angel, sister, confidant, mother, and friend."
